The Mustad E-slim nail is a European style, E-head nail with a rectangular head shape and an extra long and slim shank designed as a multi-purpose nail for farriers who prefer to nail extra high in the hoof wall. The rationale behind nailing extra high is to minimize hoof wall damage in case the horse steps out of its shoe. This nail suits the majority of horses, but especially horses that have the tendency to loose shoes such as horses at pasture, or horses working in varying terrains.
